Digital workshop materials

Digital materials for nine workshops for educational work in and out of school offer guidance and inspiration for engaging with the online archive. Via virtual reality and storytelling, in soundscapes and small productions, they approach topics such as antiracism, anti-discriminatory learning, oral history and flight as a social continuity. Education – One-Day Workshop Gelebte Utopien

Jugendclub Schloss19, Schlossstr. 19, 14059 Berlin
November 24 — December 15, 2022

In the one-day workshop Gelebte Utopien (Lived Utopias), a group from the AWO Berlin’s Federal Volunteer Service deals with political persecution as a cause of migration and the lives and life achievements of some people who were politically or socially engaged in their countries of origin, often contrary to the official government line. The workshop participants will examine the “lived utopias” of these contemporary witnesses and use them as an inspiration and a resource to implement their own utopias for our society and our coexistence.

Southeastern Europe
2021 — 2022

In cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Athens, the Archive of Refuge will be presented for discussion in seven countries of southeastern Europe. The region has a rich history of migration with numerous connections to Germany and is a scene of everything currently being debated with regard to migration, flight, expulsion and, ultimately, “Europe.” The film interviews from the online archive will form the starting point for events in Athens, Belgrade, Bucharest, Istanbul, Sarajevo, Tirana and Zagreb.
